Our Irish self catering cottage is located in beautiful County Mayo and is situated on the West Coast of Ireland. County Mayo is Ireland's third largest county. Rich in history, and panoramic scenery Mayo offers a huge range of activities such as fishing, golf, horse riding, hill walking, and a host of other activities such as an authentic pub experience. Traditional Irish music is still a big part of modern day Mayo and can be heard in many of the county's pubs.

World famous fishing, Ashford Castle & Cong only a 10 minute drive from the cottage. It's an ideal touring and walking location. Gateway to Ireland's major attractions. Connemara, championship golf courses, Galway City, Westport House & Zoo, Croagh Patrick, Knock Shrine & Airport, the Burren, Ceide Fields at North Mayo - all within easy driving distance. There are daily boat trips to the Aran Islands from Galway City. The cottage is situated in an area rich in history and archaeological ruins, with many historical and archaeological sites to explore.

• Galway City at the mouth of Galway Bay is both a picturesque and lively city with a wonderful avant-garde culture and a fascinating mixture of locally owned, speciality shops, often featuring locally made crafts.

• Ashford Castle in Cong and Maam is approximately a 10 minute car ride. The location where the film "The Quiet Man" was filmed.

• Golf Ballinrobe's 18 hole Championship Parkland Course. Claremorris has a 9 hole course. Oughterard an 18 hole course and Westport has a 18 hole Championship course.

• Angling and Fishing- Lough Mask, a world famous fishing lake. Lough Corrib, Lough Carra, Ashford Castle and Cong are approximately 10 minutes away. The type of fish available include trout, pike, perch,and salmon on Lough Corrib and Cong River.

• Croagh Patrick, where St. Patrick rested on his travels through Ireland. Croagh Patrick is located on the Louisburgh Road, one of Mayo's most famous landmarks.

• Knock National Shrine is approximately 20 miles away. Knock is a place of
  pilgrimage and devotion for Catholics since 1879.

• Westport for fine dinning and to see the Westport House and Country Estate is a fine Georgian Mansion. One of Ireland's premier day-visitor attractions the Westport House Gardens features a children's zoo (seasonal) with camels, llamas, deer, rheas and monkeys.

• The Aran Islands comprise three islands (Inis Mór, Inis Meáin and Inis Óirr) located at the mouth of Galway Bay. Ferries from Galway are available.

Rental Duration: Booking periods are weekly, Saturday to Saturday. The cottage must be vacated in a completely clean and tidy condition for the next occupant. This includes proper refuse disposal, washing of all kitchen equipment etc. Otherwise a $60 cleaning fee will be charged to your credit card. Pets are not allowed.

Cottage rentals commence 1200hrs (12 noon) on the day of arrival and should be vacated by 1200hrs (12 noon) on the day of departure.
